dec 16, 1773 - Boston Tea Party
Description:
An act of protest set in motion by the Sons of Liberty. It was in response to the Tea Act and Townshend Acts, which many patriots were strongly against. They claimed it violated their rights and went against their claim of "no taxation without representation." Three Sons of Liberty, dressed as Mohawk Native Americans, boarded one of the ships that transported tea and threw chests of tea into the Boston Harbor.
