Thomas Jefferson became heavily involved in the Revolution when he joined the Continental Congress in June of 1775 as a delegate. While previously outspoken about his opposition to the British policies, he was not heavily involved until he became a delegate. Jefferson later drafted the Declaration of Independence and was one of the founding fathers of the country. He was the 3rd president of the United States.
