Description:

Ten years after the end of the Dark Days, the tenth Hunger Games comes into play. Due to lack of viewership and participation with the last nine games, the gamemakers decide to get the students of the Academy involved, promising twenty-four of them a chance at the Plinth Prize (scholarship) if they signed up to act as a mentor towards the individual tributes. One of the mentors was the future president, Coriolanus Snow. Instead of just dropping the tributes into the arena right away, the students worked with them to try and draw in an audience. This was also the first Hunger Games where sponsors, the betting system, and interviews were implemented. We even see the first use of mutts against the tributes in the form of Dr. Gaul's rainbow snakes.
