sep 17, 1978 - Camp David Accords
Description:
Brokered by U.S. President Jimmy Carter, this set of two agreements was negotiated at Camp David between Israeli PM Menachem Begin and Egyptian President Anwar Sadat. The framework led directly to the 1979 Egypt–Israel Peace Treaty, making Egypt the first Arab state to formally recognize Israel, and it established the model of Israel trading land (the Sinai Peninsula) for peace and normalized relations.
