jan 1, 1959 - Modern Drip Irrigation
Description:
Israeli engineer Simcha Blass developed a practical system of drip irrigation in which plastic emitters slowly deliver water directly to plant roots. Commercialized by Netafim beginning in the 1960s, the technology dramatically reduced water waste while increasing agricultural productivity. It spread across arid and water-scarce regions around the world and became one of the foundations of modern precision irrigation and sustainable agriculture.
