Description:

This was the first game after the bombing of the Capitol Arena during the tenth game. While the arena had been somewhat repaired with the intention of making sure all the tributes can remain above ground and not escape the field area, it was still roughly dilapidated. Also, to avoid involving the Capitol students as mentors, like the year prior, the gamemakers decided to have each districts' most recent victor mentor the pair of tributes each year. Unfortunately, because the games for still fairly new, not every district had a mentor yet. In these cases, initially, they would hire someone from the Capitol; then when more districts obtained multiple wins, they would pull from the existing pool of victors.
