Description:

As seen with the previous year's Hunger Games, the lack of tracking the tributes' whereabouts and vitals proved to be an issue, so they started implementing trackers via injections into their wrists. Furthermore, the second a tribute's vitals went silent, a loud canon would sound, alerting the other tributes when their competition would die. However, when it came to the bloodbath at the Cornucopia, so many kids would die within such a short span, the gamemakers would wait until after things had settled before firing the required number of canons. Wanting to make the games more eventful, the arena was a lot more elaborate. It resembled a swamp with poisonous mangroves, bone-slicing sawgrass, and giant water lilies that lit on fire when touched. The District 10 boy, Sparrow, won by following the spoonbills and cranes, letting the wildlife of the arena lead him to shelter and food that was safe to eat. Eventually, the other tributes either killed each other or died from starvation or hypothermia until Sparrow was the last one remaining.
