where: waters of the Coral Sea north of Australia
who was involved: Japanese empire, new Britain Dutch, Australia and America
what happened: Japan was at Australia's door step but a month before Australia turned to America for military back up. America was also able to brake Japan’s main operational cipher and found out their plans three week ahead. both had no idea where each were at the coral reef.
who won: the Allies
what was the result of the battle: It had a big affect on the Midway battle
why is the battle important: it affected the big battle of Midway.
