The bombing of Darwin in Australia, happened on the 19th of February 1942. Countries involved where Australia and Japan, Japan sending 188 fighter planes to attack Darwin, bombing the military bases, the town and the harbour. Japan succeeded in Bombing Darwin and sinking several of their ships. It was also important to World War 2 because it brought the war onto Australia for the first time, the first ever massive attack on Australia as well.
