he discovers that the reason why his mother pushed him to end his friendship with irene is so he would be emotional enough to shoot a mental breakdown scene well enough to win him an award and make his mother look good. this causes durv to snap and kill his mother from a blow to the back of the head. he quickly decides to run away from the scene and enrol into university to blend in with the students
