Description:

Ethiopian Rail Cooperation ERC is set up to run it taking the control of part of public transport out of public ownership.

Fares set at 2-6 Ethiopian Birr depending on distance – making it cheaper than minibus-taxis – offering affordable transport to lower-income groups.

Main use of LRT has been lower-income groups as a cheap alternative.
