Description:

Mojang is founded. Markus Alexej Persson (Notch) and Jens Bergensten (Jeb_) begin making the Cave Game, a sandbox voxel engine using Rubydung, one of Notch's abandoned games, along with Infiniminer, as bases for the code, which was Javascript. He was also inspired by Dwarf Fortress.
