Stalin is appointed General Secretary
of the Communist Party. He was already
a founding member of the Politburo and Orgburo Vladimir Lenin suffers
his first stroke, which
left a power vacuum
within the party. 14th Party Congress in which Stalin moved against
Old Bolsheviks within the Central Committee. Declaration of 46: A letter by 46

United Opposition. Politburo expanded to 9 members
