People fled to Athens, fled to other islands on the Aegan sea or started settlements in Asia Minor.
Research suggests the influence of Dorian culture in Peloponnesia around this time. (Mythological descendants of Heracles)
Language changed too ('W' is not found in the alphabet around the end of the myceneaen era until the start of the classical period)
Unclear if it was an invasion or a slow push into Peloponnesia of tribes and families.
