5th Spawn Incursion (mar 10, 419 – sep 27, 422)

Description:

The "Fifth Incursion" was announced by jared, member of the secret society of The Tyranny and former general of Team Veteran, on March 10th, 419. The Fifth Incursion was a coalition of The 4th Reich, stragglers of the 4th Incursion, Team Veteran soldiers, and some of the remaining oldfags and midfags that still wanted to fight following the end of the Rusher War.

One of the initial goals for the incursion was to construct an obsidian wall around spawn to stop people from escaping spawn. Another was to level spawn by removing lava casts and all water within the 400x400 radius, and build an obsidian town in order to contain spawnfags in the region for killing and labor. Due to the sheer number of new people and their resourcefulness it was a balancing act. As the incursion went underway, the wall was being torn down in areas as griefers were managing to tear it down faster than it could be constructed. The initial goals of the incursion were failing and the leadership started to become more unorganized. More goals were added to make advances against The Vortex Coalition which was a rival to Jared and the Tyranny. These new goals undermined the original goals of the incursion which caused many to abandon it.

Unlike previous Incursions, combat and battle was minimal. The incursion was relatively quiet, with most resources being put toward containment rather than combat.

There was progress in constructing the obsidian containment wall, however it had been slowed due to interference from Team Aurora and several griefer tribes. Waves of French newfags and their leader AgentGB also caused a rise in immigration which made containment of these new people harder. Eventually, construction was never completed due to the massive amounts of griefers who sought to undermine the megaproject.

Later in the Incursion there had been a brief command structure problem, Jared had resigned his position as the leader of the Incursion due to the city he was from being attacked by griefers. DemonElite took command of tactical operations to keep the Fifth Incursion operational and more in line with its goals, while Tim_Mcnukepants focused efforts on building the spawn base of the Fifth Incursion in an attempt to make the Incursion more organized.

The 5th Incursion eventually failed and officially ended on September 27th, 422. The reason for its failure was because of the lack of organization. Jared was a good leader in military campaigns but lacked the organizational for a large scale project such as the 5th Incursion. The Fifth incursion was also the first incursion in 2b2t history not to be led by a nation. Jared acted without any government backing when he started the incursion although many in this incursion were from Team Veteran and the 4th Reich. The incursion got more organized after Jared left however Jared blames the failure of the incursion due to the "lack of good leadership" after he left in which many refute this claim.

The only thing that was a slight success in the entire incursion was an obsidian base in which the 4th Reich built. This base was originally constructed to be a town in which the natives can kill and use the immigrants for labor however plans fell through and the town was abandoned until Tim_Mcnukepants came up with new plans to turn it into a Foward Operating Base. With the help of the 4th Reich, the base was erected. However the based was eventually griefed heavily.

What has often been overlooked was DemonElite's betrayal of the very incursion he sought to keep afloat. As Tim_McNukepants went rogue and was disregarding any tactical plans to properly quarantine spawn and was working essentially on his own with the 4th Reich, DemonElite eventually gave the plans of the bases defenses of the Fifth Incursion Forward Operating Base to NedaT, the Leader of Team Aurora who was at War with the 4th Riech during this time. While NedaT rallied her forces, a third nation also appeared looking to grief the base which was The Peacekeepers. DemonElite admitted to this betrayal later on in his life.
