Invasion of Poland (sep 1, 1939 – oct 5, 1939)
Description:
The Invasion of Poland started on the 1st of September in 1939, with German troops crossing over the German Polish border into Poland, as well as German aircrafts and battleships beginning their journey into Poland. The polish air force only lasted a few days against Germany, with the Polish lines not lasting long against Germany’s tactic called Blitzkrieg as well. Britian and France declared war on Germany on the 3rd of September, but this didn’t help Poland in any way, seeing as just 2 weeks later on the 17th of September, the Soviet Union had sent their Red Army through the Polish border. Not long after that, Poland was officially split up between the winners of the battle, the Soviet Union and Germany, with the battle officially ending on the 5th of October.
