Battle of Stalingrad (jul 17, 1942 – feb 2, 1943)
Description:
The Battle of Stalingrad started in July 17th, 1942, ending on February 2nd, 1943, happening in and around the city of Volgograd (was Stalingrad) in Russia. Groups involved where the Soviet Union, and the Axis Powers, with the battle consisting of Hitler attacking the city in southern Russia, planning to destroy the soviet army, with most of the city being claimed by Germany in October. However, the soviet union did not give up, planning and executing their plan to attack the axis powers, and winning the war. This resulted in Germany turning to the defensive side, which was important because this led to their downfall in the war.
