China after Mao's death (jan 1, 1975 – dec 7, 1980)

Description:

Mao Zedong died in 1976 after which his wife and three other political leaders attempted to continue the cultural revolution. This however did not workout and Mao's wife Jiang Qing and the other members of the “Gang of Four” who were put on trial and sentence to life in prison. Deng Xiaoping took over and began to work on the Four Modernizations which was a to change agriculture, industry, science and technology. China’s economy began to grow extremely fast with all the new relationships between western countries.
