nov 10, 1660 BC - A settlement identified with the time of the Hyskos was found near the Tel El Maskhuta (Pithom) excavation site. Later renovations in 7th century BC caused the location thought to have been originally built then. The location of Pi-Ramesses is only 2km away from Avaris. After the inhabitants of Avaris were driven out, construction of Pi-Ramesses made the two sites grow into each other. Pi-Ramesses may have been the location of the Biblical "Raamses" before the later construction at the site.
